Paavai Nrithyalaya
"The epitome of traditional Indian arts"
Paavai Nrithyalaya, a part of Paavai Institutions aims to bring to life the traditional art forms. It was founded to identify young talent, nurture them in the field of arts and expose the students to the diverse cultural art forms in India.
"The soul search for traditional arts"
India has always been unique with the culture that it holds and one such uniqueness is the Guru-Shishya custom. Though this tradition has gone out of practice in education, it still serves as the backbone of traditional arts. The Nrithyalaya instills in its students the importance of such a tradition and carries forward this long lost culture to the younger generation.
The Nrithyalaya was officially inaugurated on 19th April 2014 during the arangetram of its first disciple, Smt. Avanti Natarajan under the Guru, Smt. Anupama Naresh at the prestigious Music Academy, Chennai in the presence of Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, Thiriaiulaga Markandeyan Shri. Sivakumar and Padma Bhushan, Kaviperarasu Shri. Vairamuthu.
This school has adopted Kalakshetra Bani of Bharatanatyam. Paavai Nrithyalaya has staged three of its major dance productions at Paavai Vidhyashram Schools during different occasions.
